EARTH PUNK is an artist collective bridging art and earthwork practices, founded by Zanette Singh, Eli Howey and Kikeyah in 2024.

As a trans-led artist collective, EARTH PUNK cultivates a legacy of resistance within the queer community, representing an intergenerational movement that centres reverence for the natural world. Our collective efforts stem from a shard desire to connect communities whose lives and practices honor and respect the earth and all of it’s beings.

 EARTH PUNK ETHOS

The Earth Punk mission is to bring together artists whose practices reflect and respond to their relationship with the natural world. These expressions of reverence are vast and reach into the ancestral lineages from communities across the diaspora, including the Indigenous two-spirit artists from Turtle Island. These representations are distinct and affirm a sense of place, identity and community. When QT-BIPOC artists are able to work outside of the institution and make work for their community, we witness a palpable sense of trust in the work. Earth Punk brings audiences into potent reflections of 2SQT artists, examining the complexity of colonization of this land, while also integrating the ancient wisdom and influence of animist perspectives. The result is powerful, resonating deeply with a wide range of people. These representations bring rich conversations of climate grief, queer ecologies and post-humanist frameworks.

  • Recognition the intelligence of the earth, plants, animals and actively working from place of reverence of natural world
  • Commitment to working respectfully with organic materials and foraged materials
  • Working collaboratively as a way disrupt colonial notions of the individual artist

EARTH PUNK operates out of Terrarium
Studio, a queer DIY art studio founded by Cue Art Projects through the shared efforts of longtime artistic collaborators Zanette Singh, Eli Howey and Rajni Perera.

Now run by the EARTH PUNK collective under the leadership of CUE,
Terrarium supports trans, two-spirit and queer artists, providing long-term access to studio space, mentorship, new networks in an environment centring collaborative learning and knowledge sharing through intensive artist residencies. These efforts incubate creative development, culminating in large-scale exhibitions and collective community-driven events. These events bring together an intergenerational community built from over 15 years of CUE’s steadfast grants, programming and mentorship to support B-I-POC and 2S-T-Q-I artists in the GTA.
